The Process

What happens after a loved one passes away

Most families face 4 challenges in sequence. Our services map exactly to each one.

1

Immediate

Notify & Protect

Inform financial institutions about the death to prevent unauthorised access and protect the estate from fraud.

Death Intimation Service · Coming soon
2

Early weeks

Find All Assets

Most families discover 30–40% more assets than they knew about. We scan multiple government and financial registries to build a complete picture.

3

Weeks 2–4

Get Legal Authority

Before you can claim anything, you need documents proving you are the legal heir or representative. This is where most families get stuck.

4

Ongoing

File the Claims

With legal authority established, submit institution-specific claim forms. We generate pre-filled claim kits tailored to each bank, mutual fund, and insurer.

You don't need to do all four at once. Start with what's most urgent — we'll guide you through the rest.

Lost Assets Finder

Free scan of public registries — UDGAM (unclaimed bank deposits), IEPF (unclaimed shares & dividends), and IRDAI (unclaimed insurance). The fastest way to discover forgotten assets before you dig deeper.

Key Terms, in Plain English

Confused by the jargon? You're not alone.

Inheritance and tax law use words that sound similar but mean very different things. Here's the short version — every workflow on this site re-explains the terms it uses.

Representative Assessee

A person formally authorised by the Income Tax Department under Section 159 to handle the deceased's tax matters.

Legal Heir

A person legally entitled to inherit the deceased's property under personal succession law.

Class 1 Heir

Closest legal heirs under the Hindu Succession Act — typically spouse, children, and mother of the deceased.

Succession Certificate

A court-issued certificate authorising heirs to collect debts and securities (shares, bonds, deposits) of the deceased.

How they relate

A is a type of . A is a state-issued document proving who the legal heirs are — useful with banks and employers. A is a stronger, court-issued version — usually needed for shares and disputed claims. A is a separate, tax-only role — required to handle the deceased's income tax matters.

Every document Dravinam generates is reviewed by a qualified professional before it reaches your hands.

On our Roadmap

What if your family never had to search for a single asset?

Today, when someone passes, their family spends months tracking down bank accounts, insurance policies, and investments they didn't even know existed. We're building a service that eliminates that problem entirely — while you're still here.

What families go through today

  • Months spent figuring out what the deceased even owned
  • Assets slipping into government unclaimed funds — silently
  • Outdated paperwork creating disputes at the worst possible time
  • Every institution demanding a different set of forms

What your family will experience instead

  • Everything organised and accounted for — before it's ever needed
  • Nothing slips through the cracks, nothing expires unnoticed
  • Your family gets clarity at the moment it matters most
  • The paperwork burden is already handled.
