ASSET DISCOVERY

Find What Was Left Behind

Financial assets often go untraced after a death — not because they don't exist, but because no single place lists them all. We search every public registry on your behalf, and explain exactly why some searches need to go deeper.

Public Registry Search

We manually search 4 government registries using the deceased's name and PAN. No automation — a real person searches each portal and sends you a written report.

⚠ Important: These registries only list assets that have been unclaimed for several years. If your loved one passed away recently, many assets may not appear here yet — this is normal, not a sign that nothing exists.
RECOMMENDED

Asset Scanner

Share the deceased's official income tax records from the Income Tax portal. This document lists every financial institution that reported transactions in the deceased's name — including recent ones the public registries won't show yet.

✓ Best for: assets from the last 1–7 years. Banks, mutual funds, broker accounts, EPF, post office — all in one organized report.

What each registry covers — and its limits

Read this before submitting. Understanding these limits helps you interpret your results correctly.

UDGAM Portal

Governed by Reserve Bank of India

Unclaimed savings and fixed deposits across scheduled banks in India.

Only lists deposits unclaimed for 10+ years. If the account holder passed away recently, their deposits will not appear here until the 10-year threshold is reached. This is the RBI's rule, not a gap in our search.

Searched using: Deceased's name, date of birth, PAN (where accepted)

IEPF — Investor Education & Protection Fund

Governed by Ministry of Corporate Affairs

Unclaimed dividends, matured debentures, and share application money transferred by companies to the IEPF Authority.

Only captures dividends and deposits unclaimed for 7+ years. Recent shareholdings with active dividends will not appear. Physical share certificates from older holdings are the most common find here.

Searched using: Deceased's PAN and name

IRDAI Unclaimed Insurance Registry

Governed by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India

Unclaimed life insurance maturity and death claim amounts held by insurers.

Only amounts that have remained unclaimed for 3+ years after policy maturity or claim intimation appear here. Policies where claims have not yet been initiated by the family will not show up.

Searched using: Deceased's name and date of birth

CKYC — Central KYC Registry

Governed by CERSAI / Ministry of Finance

A directory of KYC records across banks, NBFCs, and mutual funds — helps identify which institutions the deceased had a relationship with.

CKYC shows that a relationship existed, not the balance or whether it is currently active. It is a starting point for further institution-specific follow-up, not a definitive asset list.

Searched using: Deceased's PAN

Got "no results" from all registries? That's more common than you'd expect — it usually means assets exist but haven't crossed the dormancy thresholds above, not that nothing is there. The Asset Scanner will surface them — it has no time threshold and covers the last 7 financial years. Start Asset Scanner →

When the free search isn't enough

Recent death (less than 10 years)

Public registries use dormancy thresholds. The Asset Scanner covers the last several financial years with no dormancy requirement.

Active bank accounts & mutual funds

Active accounts never appear in unclaimed registries. The Asset Scanner lists every institution reported against the deceased — active or closed.

You got 'no results' but suspect assets exist

A blank result from UDGAM/IEPF/IRDAI doesn't mean nothing exists. It usually means assets haven't crossed dormancy thresholds yet.
